This course initiates the development of the ability to speak, understand, read, and write Cape Verdean Creole with special emphasis on the Santiago Island dialectical variation. Students will learn the fundamentals of grammar, basic vocabulary and correct pronunciation. Various aspects of Cape Verdean culture will be discussed.
